Vasilitsi |
Βασιλίτσι
The
Akritiki stretch of land is rooted 27 km of enviable and miscellaneous
beaches with sand, little pebbles or caves. From the mountain to the
sea and from Coules to Akritas with panoramic surprises is at the same
time a riddle of history. Accounts of historians have reached us, which
intermingle with modern narrations, however the ruins at the church of
Faneromeni cannot tell, or even inform us, whether the ancient Assini
was established here. Vasilitsi with its traditional stone-built
houses, situated at the heart of the village, or in the settlements of
Faneromeni and Livadakia counts 640 residents, descendants of the
Arcades, who emigrated here many generations ago. They are mainly
occupied with the production of oil and raisins of excellent quality.
